1.0 Purpose
1.1 To describe a procedure for Handling of E2 Class Weight Box.

2.0 Scope
2.1 This Standard Operating Procedure is applicable for handling of Analytical Weight Box located

at Quality Control Department at ABC Pvt. Ltd., Roorkee (UK), India.

3.0 Responsibility
Officer QC/ Executive QC Preparation of SOP and follow the procedure as per SOP
Assistant Manager Reviewing and Training of SOP
Manager QC Implementation of SOP
4.0 Accountability
4.1 Manager Quality Control is accountable for implementation and compliance with SOP.

5.0 Procedure
5.1 Ensure that the analytical weight box is calibrated.
5.2 Check the weight in box as per Annexure I.
5.3 Before use the weight box analytical balance should be clean.
5.4 The sprit label of balance should be in the center.
5.5 Wear the gloves provide in analytical weight box.
5.6 Lift the weight with the help of forcep and put on analytical balance pan.
5.7 Operate the balance for calibration or verification as per SOP No. QCD-026.
5.8 After complete the calibration or verification clean the weight with cleaning brush keep

all the weight in box with respective place.
5.9 Verify the all weights as per Annexure I.

5.10 Calibration
5.10.1 Calibrate the weight box from outside NABL certified agency in once a year.

5.11 Precaution
5.11.1 Star Mark (“ * ”) Weight will not be in routine use till required.
5.11.2 Always wear the gloves before use the weight.
5.11.3 Always hold the weight with the help of forcep.
5.11.4 Do not pace the weight on floor.
