sop on operation and cleaning of multimill
1.0 Objective: To describe the procedure for operation and cleaning of multimill.
2.0 Scope: This procedure is applicable to multimill
3.0 Responsibility: Operator / Production Officer / Executive
4.0 Accountability: Department Head shall be accountable for the compliance of the system.
5.0 Procedure:
5.1 Operation:
5.1.1 Check the cleanliness of the area. There should not be any remnants of the previous product.
5.1.2 Check the setting of the blades and the speed as per applicable BMR.
5.1.3 Place a suitable container below the Mill and cover it with a clean polythene bag.
5.1.4 Fix a required sieve. Fix the feed hopper.
5.1.5 Switch on the main power supply of the Mill and pass the material / tablets to be pulverized through the hopper.
5.1.6 After completion of the operation, switch off the main power supply of the Mill.
5.1.7 Record the details in the Log book.
5.1.8 Affix “To Be Cleaned” status label.
5.2 Cleaning: ( For Batch Change Over)
5.2.1 Switch off the main power supply.
5.2.2 Dismantle the feed hopper, base plate, chamber and sieve. Clean the internal surface of the Multi Mill to the maximum possible extent, with the designated vacuum cleaner.
5.2.3 Clean the outer surface of the mill with lint free cloth.
5.3 Cleaning: ( Product Change Over )
5.3.1 Dismantle the equipment. Put the sieves, hopper, base plate, chamber and blade assembly in polybag.
5.3.2 Affix a “TO BE CLEANED” label on it.
5.3.3 Transfer the parts to washing area.
5.3.4 Wash it with plenty of process water and then Hot waterWash it with water and ensure that there should not be any residues of previous product
5.3.5 Rinse it with purified water.
5.3.6 Clean the body of the mill with wet cloth followed by dry lint free cloth.
5.3.7 Allow the equipment to dry at room temperature.
5.3.8 Record the cleaning details in the Log book.
5.3.9 Affix “Cleaned” status label.
5.4 Assembling:
5.4.1 Fix the knives on the rotor. Fix this rotor on the central rod of the main shaft with the help of fixing screw.
5.4.2 Fix the screen with base plate. Tighten the plate with the nuts.
5.4.3 Fix the chamber with the help of clamps. Fix the feeder hopper.
5.4.4 Affix the “Cleaned” status label.
