sop for cleaning and sanitization of factory toilets

1.0 OBJECTIVE 

1.1 To describe a procedure for cleaning and sanitization of the factory toilets. Regular and frequent cleaning and sanitization is essential in order to reduce the level of contaminating micro-organisms.
2.0 SCOPE
2.1 This procedure is applicable to all toilets/ urinal of the premises of the factory for general cleaning and sanitization.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 House Keeping Staff: Responsible for effective cleaning of toilets/ urinals.
3.2 HR Officer/ Executive: Shall ensure the cleaning and sanitization performed as per SOP.
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY
4.1 Head –HR shall responsible for compliance with this procedure.



5.0 PROCEDURE
5.1 Introduction: Cleaning and sanitizing of toilets and urinals is being done in-house.
5.2 The sequence of cleaning is in the following order:
5.2.1 Toilet bowl and urinal pot.
5.2.2 Walls, wash basin and floor.
5.2.3 Sink.
5.3 Clean & scrub the toilets and urinals by detergent and harpic with a brush to remove all dirt, stains & rubbish.
5.4 Clean the wall tiles, wash basins and floor with a separate nylon brush to remove stains with the cleaning solution (detergent).
5.5 Wash with water to remove all detergent.
5.6 Sanitize toilets, urinals, wall tiles and wash basins by using disinfectant solution as per sop Preparation, Storage and Issuance of Cleaning, Sanitizing and Disinfectant Solutions.
5.7 Sanitize floors by mopping with disinfectant solution.
5.8 The wall tiles shall be wiped with clean cloth.
5.9 The portion below platforms sinks etc. including the corners shall be cleaned.



6.0 TRAINING
6.1 Trainer – Head of department.
6.2 Trainee – All concern person.
6.3 Period – One hour or as per required.
7.0 DISTRIBUTION
7.1 One set of master copy & controlled copy submitted the quality assurance department.
