Disposal of chemicals reagents solvents after their expiry

1.0 OBJECTIVE

1.1 To lay down a procedure for the Disposal of chemicals, reagents, solvents, after their expiry.
2.0 SCOPE
2.1 This SOP shall be applicable for Disposing of all expired Chemicals, Reagents, Solvents, in Quality Control
Laboratory
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

3.1 QC Officer or QC Executive

4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY

4.1 QC Manager

5.0 Procedure
5.1.1 At the end of month, prepare a list of materials, which have expired in the same month.
5.1.2 Concerned person must use hand gloves, safety goggles, mask, and handle it carefully.
5.1.3 Dispose of the materials in the following manner

Sr. No. Type Procedure for Disposal
1. Liquid Chemicals Drain carefully with continuous flow of water into sink.
2. Solid Chemicals
Collect Expiry solid chemical dissolve in purified water and drain in ETP.
3. Hazardous chemicals Pack all such type of waste in poly bag and then hand over to Scrap Management Dept. for further action.

5.1.4 Maintained the record.
