1.0 OBJECTIVE To provide the procedure of operation & Cleaning of  Sonicator in
Quality Control Department.

2.0 SCOPE This procedure is applicable for operation and  Cleaning of Sonicator

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

3.1 QC Officer or QC Executive

5.0 PROCEDURE

5.1.0 OPERATING PROCEDURE

5.1.1 Fill Purified water up to 3cm from the top of the bath.

5.1.2 Switch ‘ON’ the mains.

5.1.3 Switch ‘ON’ the instrument by pressing power key.

5.1.4 Select TIME to Set the Time by using ‘UP’ & ‘DOWN’ keys.

5.1.5 Keep the sample to be sonicated inside the Ultrasonic Bath.
5.1.6 Press the start key.



5.1.7 On completion of the ultrasonic treatment, Stop the sonication by pressing ‘STOP’ key, take out the sample from
the water bath and cover the water bath with the lid provided.
5.1.8 Switch ‘OFF’ the instrument by pressing ‘POWER’ key.
5.1.9 Switch ‘OFF the mains.

5.2.0 CLEANING PROCEDURE
Frequency: Once in a week or when water becomes turbid.

5.2.1 Switch ‘OFF’ the Mains.
5.2.2 Remove the lid from the Ultrasonic Bath.
5.2.3 Wash the lid properly with purified water.



5.2.4 Remove the water from the outlet provided at the back side of instrument and wash the Sonicator with purified
Water.
5.2.5 Wash with purified water properly and mop with clean and dry cotton cloth.
5.2.6 Fill the purified water up to 3 cm of the bath.
5.2.7 Put the lid on the bath again.
