sop for cleaning and operation of vibro sifter

1.0 OBJECTIVE 
1.1 To describe the procedure for cleaning and operation of vibro sifter.
2.0 SCOPE
2.1 This procedure is applicable to vibro sifter present in the production area.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 Operator – To perform the procedure.
3.2 Executive production- To ensure that the operation is being performed in compliance with the
SOP and BPR.
3.3 IPQA person – To ensure line clearance, in-process checks, and to counter check that the
Compliance is in line with SOP and BPR.

5.0 PROCEDURE
5.1 Cleaning: Follow Cleaning Type A & Type B procedure as per respective as per SOP
5.1.1 Ensure all the material is removed from the vibro sifter.
5.1.2 Remove the equipment status label as per SOP and affix ‘To be cleaned’ status label as per SOP over the equipment.
5.1.3 Switch off the equipment, Switch off the main power supply.
5.1.4 Isolate the electrical supply, Cover the motor of the multi mill using poly bag/stretch wrap.
5.1.5 Check and ensure the cleanliness and availability of accessories used for cleaning Nylon brush, Nylon scrubber, Lint free cloth, Gloves, Clean polythene bag/stretch wrap.
5.1.6 Prepare 0.500 liter of 0.5% w/v of SLS solution for cleaning.
5.1.7 Dismantle all the critical removable parts: upper clamps, upper lid and gasket, middle clamps, remove the top hopper and sieve, lower clamp, bottom hopper and gasket.
5.1.8 Cover all the dismantled parts using poly bag and Affix ‘To be cleaned’ status label.
5.1.9 Take movable parts of the equipment & shift them to washing area, using ss trolley.
5.1.10 Remove all left over of previous materials with help of nylon brush, lint free cloth.
5.1.11 Clean the Outer surface, Inner surface area and dismantle parts by dry moping followed by wet moping of the equipment using 0.5 % w/v of SLS solution.
5.1.12 Using nylon brush/scrapper removes the product traces from the outer surface and bottom of the equipment.
5.1.13 Rinse the equipment surfaces using portable water & Ensure the cleanliness of the equipment.
5.1.14 Finally rinse the equipment surfaces & dismantled parts using 20liters of purified water.
5.1.15 Inform IPQA to collect the rinse/swab sample as per sop.
5.1.16 Allow them to dry & cover all the dismantled parts using poly bag/stretch wrap and affix ‘Cleaned’ status label as per sop
5.1.17 Transfer all the cleaned dismantled parts to cleaned equipment area.
5.2 PRE START UP
5.2.1 Check and ensure the equipment is cleaned and affixed with CLEANED status label.
5.2.2 Get line clearance from IPQA, before starting the operation.
5.2.3 Check and ensure temperature and relative humidity of the room are within the limits.
5.2.4 Remove the CLEANED status label and affix UNDER OPERATION status label on the equipment.
5.3 START UP
5.3.1 Switch ON the main power supply.
5.3.2 Turn the switch to ON position.
5.3.3 Fit the sieves to the equipment.
5.3.4 Check and ensure the tare weight of the container is taken before starting the batch.
5.3.5 Place the in-process container/container blender bin below the discharge chute of the vibro sifter, ensure appropriate status labeling.
5.3.6 Connect the discharge chute and inlet of the container blender bin using connector bag and tie suitably.
5.3.7 Bring the material to be sifted near the equipment.
5.3.8 Check and ensure the cleanliness of the in process container.
5.3.9 Remove the lid of the in process container and pour the materials to be sifted in the in process container using SS dedicated scoops.
5.3.10 Close the lid of the in process container and tighten the clamps.
5.3.11 Align the discharge chute of the in process container to the inlet of the feeding hopper of the vibro sifter using gasket to avoid spillage.
5.3.12 Lock the lifting and positioning device after fixing the position of the in process container.
5.3.13 Connect the electrical supply.
5.3.14 Switch ON the machine.
5.4 OPERATION
5.4.1 Allow the material to be sifted in to the feeding hopper through the opening of butter fly valve of the in process container.
5.4.2 Collect the sifted materials in the in-process container/container blender bin as required.
5.4.3 The sifting sequence shall be as per BPR.
5.4.4 After completion of the sifting, check the weights of the sifted material and record the gross weights on the label as well as in BPR.
5.4.5 All activity to be recorded as per sop
5.5 SHUTDOWN
5.5.1 Switch OFF the machine
5.5.2 Isolate the electrical power supply
6.0 TRAINING
6.1 Trainer – Head of department.
6.2 Trainee – All concern person.
6.3 Period – One hour or as per required.
7.0 DISTRIBUTION
7.1 One set of master copy & controlled copy submitted the quality assurance department.
