1.0. OBJECTIVE:

The objective of this SOP is:
1.1 To describe the procedure for gowning and de gowning in the Raw material sampling room.

2.0. RESPONSIBILITY:
2.1 The QC Officer shall be:
2.1.1. Responsible for ensuring the following up of correct gowning & degowning procedure of other persons in the sampling area.

3.0. ACCOUNTABILITY:
Head – Quality Control.

4.0. PROCEDURE:
4.1 ENTRY PROCEDURE FOR MAN:
4.1.1 Enter the air lock. Take out a pair of fresh shoe cover from the rack of step over bench. Sit on the bench and



wear shoe cover on the shoe which is to be crossed over first towards the sampling area. Then wear the shoe cover on

the other shoe & then cross over towards the sampling side. Precaution shall be taken to ensure that the shoe cover

does not touch the floor of exit door side.
4.1.2 After cross over, take out a fresh over gown and nose mask from the other side of the rack of the same bench.

Then wear the over gown properly and put on the mask on the nose.
4.1.3 Enter the sampling area corridor
4.1.4 Before entering the sampling booths, take out a pair of clean latex hand glove kept in the rack in the corridor of sampling area.

Wear it with sleeves tucked in the gloves.
4.1.5 After this enter the desired sampling booth.

4.2 ENTRY PROCEDURE FOR MATERIALS:
4.2.1 The workman standing outside the material entry gate shall keep the planned “to be” sampled material’s container duly cleaned

and arranged outside the sampling area in advance
4.2.2 The sampling workman inside the sampling area shall take a clean SS trolley in the material entry passage and open the door.

Care must be taken to ensure that both the entry doors shall not open simultaneously and the inside workman and

the trolley operated by him shall not come out side the materials entry passage.

4.2.3 The workman standing out side shall now place the planned material on the trolley and the workman standing inside will carry it in to the sampling area.



4.3 EXIT PROCEDURE:
4.3.1 While leaving the sampling room, ensure that the area is properly cleaned and then enter the airlock.
4.3.2 Remove the used hand gloves, nose mask and sampling overgrown and discard them in a pre-designated bin.
4.3.3 Cross over the step over bench.
4.3.4 Remove the shoe covers and discard them in a pre-designated bin and leave the sampling area.

5.0. REASON FOR REVISION:

This SOP is modified in order to be more effective in its responsibility, gowning and degowning procedure.
