To lay down the procedure for cleaning and colour coding of factory apparel (Clothes).
2.0 Scope
This standard operating procedure applies for cleaning and colour coding of factory apparel at abc company.

5.0 Procedure
5.1 Collection of dirty Factory Apparel
5.1.1 Dirty factory apparels shall be collected from the assigned area in the respective change rooms at the end
of shift after every week or as and when required.
5.1.2 Factory apparels of different departments or blocks shall be segregated and washing shall be undertaken
separately i.e. factory apparel of production department shall be washed separately from Quality control
department or Engineering department.
5.2 Washing of Factory Apparel
5.2.1 Company has made a contract with an approved external Laundry agency to carry out
the washing of Factory apparel
5.2.2 Wash the apparels using detergents or suitable cleaning agents.
5.2.3 Rinse in water till removal of the detergent. If required hot water can be used for making
the cleaning more effective.
5.2.4 Rinse the clothes once with disinfectant solution (about 2%) like Dettol or Savlon solution.
5.2.5 Iron the clothes and send back to respective departments.
5.2.6 Record in Apparel cleaning Log Book (Annexure-I).
5.3 Colour coding of Apparels
5.3.1 Colur coding with respect to nature of job of the employees or visitors shall be as per below Table.
