General Test Procedure Identification by Solubility
- Purpose
- This procedure is applicable to all incoming Raw materials, In-process and Finished products.
- Apparatus
- Calibrated Balance.
- Reagents
- Solvent as mentioned in STP
- Procedure
- Weigh accurately a suitable quantity of sample into a glass stoppered test tube and add specified
quantity of solvent as per the table given below.

- Shake vigorously to dissolve, keep aside for 15 minutes.
- If sample has not been completely dissolved repeat step no. 2.
- The term miscible is used to describe a liquid that is miscible in 1:1 proportion with a stated solvent:
