1. Purpose
   1. This procedure is applicable to all incoming Raw materials, In-process and Finished products.
2. Apparatus
   1. Pycnometer
   2. specific gravity bottle
   3. Calibrated glass thermometer
   4. Balance
3. Reagents
   1. None.
4. Procedure

   1. Procedure for Volumetric Flask

      1. Take the wt. of empty Pycnometer.

      2. Fill the Pycnometer with liquid and maintain at 25°C for 10 minutes. Record the weight.

      3. Calculate the weight per ml by formula:

      1. Take the weight of empty specific gravity bottle.

      2. Take a specific gravity bottle with water and maintain at 25ºC. Record the weight.

      3. Rinse the specific gravity bottle with liquid, being examined.

      4. Fill the specific gravity bottle with liquid sample and maintain at 25C. Record the weight.

      5. Calculate the specific gravity by formula :
