Cleaning and Operation of Refrigerator
1.1 To lay down a procedure for Cleaning and Operation of Refrigerator.
2.1 This procedure is applicable for Cleaning and Operation of Refrigerator in Quality Control Department

5.0. PROCEDURE : CLEANING & OPERATION OF REFRIGERATOR
5.1 Switch ‘ON’ the mains.
5.2 Remove all the contents from the refrigerator and carefully store them in the appropriate place.
5.3 Switch off the mains and defrost the refrigerator.
5.4 Ensure that there is no Ice in the freezer .
5.5 Mop the refrigerator with 0.1 % Teepol solution then again mop it with water and dry it with clean lint free
5.6 Switch on the refrigerator and allow the temperature to maintain at a constant value.
5.7 Replace all the contents carefully back in to the refrigerator.
5.8 Cleaning and defrost are to be done once in a week and record in Annex – I of this SOP.
5.9 Get the refrigerator checked for the following once in a quarter.
5.10 Check the functioning of the compressor.
5.11 Check the thermo state of the refrigerator for cut off and cut on and ensure the functioning of the thermo state.
5.11 Record the temperature everyday as per Annex-II of this SOP by using calibrated RTD probe.
5.13 Maintained the record.
5.9 ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA FOR TEMPERATURE MONITORING
5.9.1 Limit for Refrigerator : 2°C to 8°C
5.9.2 Limit for Deep freezer : -2°C to -8°C
