Determination Of Diameter Width and Length
1.0 Purpose
1.1 This procedure is applicable to all incoming all In-process and finished Products of tablets.
2.0 Apparatus
2.1 Vernier Calipers
3.0 Reagents
3.1 Nil
4.0 Procedure
4.1 Ensure the instrument/Vernier Calipers are clear and calibrated.
4.2 Switch on the instrument using green button.
4.3 Bring the jars together so that is no gap/they touch each other.
4.4 Then set for “0.00mm” using yellow (Zero) button.
4.5 Keep the sample to be tested between the jaws and hold it tightly. Then note down the reading shown in display.
4.6 Perform the test for 10 tablets to measure thickness for diameter, width and length of tablets.
4.7 The Diameter, width & Length reading shall be expressed in mm.
4.8 Report the range of the measurement observed.
4.9 Switch off the equipment and clear it with dry cloth.
4.10 The acceptance limits are given specification.
