General Test Procedure Determination Thickness of Tablet

 

1. Purpose

   1. This procedure is applicable to all In-process and Finished product.

2. Apparatus

   1. Vernier Calipers

3. Reagents

   1. Nil

4. Procedure

   1. Ensure the instrument /Vernier Calipers are clean and calibrated.

   2. Switch on the instrument using green button.

   3. Bring the jaws together so that there is no gap / they touch each other.

   4. Then set for “0.00 mm” using yellow (Zero) button.

   5. Keep the sample to be tested between the jaws and hold it tightly. Then note down the reading shown in display.

   6. Perform the test for 10 tablets to measure thickness for circular/Caplet shaped tablets and also to measure the length, breadth and thickness of tablets.

   7. Report the range of the measurement observed.

   8. Switch off the equipment and clean it with dry cloth.

   9. The acceptance limits are given Master Formula record.
