1.0 OBJECTIVE 
To lay down procedure for cleaning, calibration and operation of Analytical balance.
2.0 SCOPE
This SOP is applicable cleaning, calibration and operation of Analytical balance.

5.0 PROCEDURE


5.1 Operation
5.1.1 Connect the plug of the AC adapter into the AC adapter socket of the balance and connect to the power supply.
5.1.2 The balance must be connected to power supply for 30 minute in order to reach the operating temperature.
5.1.3 Ensure that anti vibration table / working bench and balance is clean.
5.1.4 Ensure that the position of the bubble is exactly at the center of the circle.
5.1.5 If not leveled turn the leveling screw of the balance clock wise or anti clock wise to get the



bubble exactly at the central position of the circle.
5.1.6 Ensure that the setting knobs are in zero position.
5.1.7 Switch on the mains.

5.1.8 The single knob on the left side panel of the instrument is the operating knob. It is in the
rest position and when turned half on the anti clock wise direction gives the checking
Position and when turned on the clockwise direction gives the weighing position.

5.1.9 First turn the operating knob in the checking position. The light source will be on,
And now that the zero- zero setting of the venire scale and the projection scale are
Coinciding with one another.

5.2.0 If does not coincide, then adjust with the adjusting knob provided on the side panel of
The instrument.

5.2.1 Again put the operating knob on its rest position. Place the weight to be taken on the
Weighing pan. Adjust the operating knob to the checking position. The three knobs
provided on the panel are for 0.1g to 0.9g, 1 to 9 g and 10 to 150g weighing.

5.2.3 Venire scale is provided for 0.01 mg and can be adjust by rotating the knob provided on
The right side panel off the instrument.
5.2.4 First check the approx. weight in its checking position and finally bring the operating
knob its weighing position.

5.2.5 Note down the accurate weight and put the operating knob in its position before
Switching off the instrument.

5.2.6 The balance has the capacity to produce weight up to 160 gm (max.)
