Purpose
1.1 To lay down a procedure for Operation and Cleaning of Paste Kettle.
2.0 Scope
2.1 This SOP is applicable for Operation and Cleaning of Paste Kettle in ABC Pvt. Ltd., Roorkee
3.0 Responsibility
3.1 Machine Operator To execute the procedure.
Production & QA officer Follow the procedure as per SOP
Head Production Training and Implementation of SOP
4.0 Accountability
4.1 Production Head is accountable for compliance of this SOP.
5.0 Procedure
5.1 Operation
5.1.1 Area & Paste kettle should be cleaned before operation as well as update the status board of the area as “UNDER PROCESS”.
5.1.2 Take the line clearance from QA Officer.
5.1.3 Open the lid of the Paste kettle.
5.1.4 Take the required quantity of purified water into the Paste kettle.
5.1.5 Covered the lid of the Paste kettle.
5.1.6 Start the heater and start the boiling of purified water to required temperature
as specified in the BMR.
5.1.7 Add material as per Batch manufacturing Record in the boiling purified water in the Paste Kettle
under continuous stirring.
5.1.8 Continue stirring the mass till get the required paste.
5.1.9 Stop the heater.
5.1.10 Remove the cover.
5.1.11 Cool the prepared Paste below 450C.
5.1.12 Unload manually prepared Paste into suitable SS vessel
5.1.13 Record the activity in Equipment log and respective BMR.
5.2 Cleaning
5.2.1 Update the status board of the area as “UNDER CLEANING”.
5.2.2 Switch “OFF” the main supply.
5.2.3 Open the lid of Paste kettle.
5.2.4 Clean the Paste kettle by using raw water if required scrubbed the paste kettle with SS scrapper
than wash with purified water.
5.2.5 Ensure that the no material is left inside the Paste kettle of previous product after cleaning.
5.2.6 Record the activity in the Equipment log
5.2.7 If the Paste kettle not use within 72 hrs. then reclean the Paste kettle with purified water before use.
5.3 Drying
5.3.1 Mop the Paste Kettle from inner and outer side and its accessories with lint free cloth.
5.3.2 Ensure the complete dryness of machine and its accessories.
5.3.3 Affix cleaned status label on machine after ensuring complete drying.
5.3.4 Always kept the machine well closed while not in use.
5.3.5 Training shall be provided to the concerned person.
