To lay down the procedure for Pest and Rodent Control inside the factory premises

This procedure is applicable for Pest and Rodent Control in the plant at abc company.

5.0 Procedure
5.1 Method Of Paste Control
5.1.1 Company has made a contract with an approved external pest control agency to carry out the pest control operation.
5.1.2 Trained pest control personnel (External Agency) shall visit the factory and carry
out the pest control treatment.
5.1.3 The HR/ Personnel department shall monitor pest & Rodent control programme.
5.1.4 Care shall be taken to avoid the exposure of materials during pest control operation and ensure
the operations are carried out only in the non-manufacturing areas.
5.2 Insect Control
5.2.1 Disinfestations treatment for insects shall be carried out on every weekly thoroughly, which involves
spraying insecticide systematically to keep the premises free from any insects.
5.2.2 The concerned department deputed person monitor the satisfactory disinfestations treatment
and initial the Insect Control Record.
5.2.3 Pest control agency shall check for any presence of insects in the manufacturing
areas, packing areas and warehouse and ensure proper treatment as per insect control schedule.
5.3 Fly Control:
5.3.1 Flying insects control is carried out by the in house deputed person from personnel/ security
monitor for the proper treatment. Flying objects control carried out by installation of Insectocutors
and air curtains The Insectocutors installed at the Location as per the Annexure III and keep ON for 24 hours.
5.3.2 The Insectocutors to be cleaned daily in the morning for the cleaning purpose, the following to be followed:
Step 1- Switch ‘OFF’ the mains.
Step 2- Remove the bottom plate of the Insectocutor.
Step 3- Clean the bottom plate with duster & fix it back to the Insectocutor.
Step 4- Switch ‘ON’ the mains
5.4 Rodents Control
5.4.1 Rodent control shall be carried out by placing weather proof blocks / cakes around the factory
premises which includes Administrative Block, Utilities Block, ETP Plants, and Security
office at the gate and along the boundary wall.
5.4.2 The Rodent treatment shall be carried out on a weekly basis. A deputed person from the
Personnel Department ensure the proper treatment and initial the Rodent Control Record as per the schedule as Annexure
5.4.3 The entire pest control operations are periodically reviewed and assessed by Personnel & Administration department.

5.6 Pest Control contract involves measures for
5.6.1 Spraying of the pesticides for the control of all flying insects (Mosquitoes, Flies), ants and lizards.

5.7 Rodent control contract involves measures for
5.7.1 Rodent control treatment shall be carried out for the control of rat’s mice.
5.7.2 Trap shall be always placed adjacent to the walls or on rodent runways.
5.7.3 In case of outside of production block, the person of pest control agency as per their frequency
should keep chemicals at defined location.
5.7.4 House Keeping personnel shall visit the premises as per need to change the feed and monitor
the status of rats traps for presence of rat, mice etc.
5.7.5 If any rats & mice are observed in any of the locations it will be sent for the disposal.

5.8 Safety Precautions
5.8.1 Avoid direct contact or inhalation of poison by wearing gas mask, rubber gloves, goggles and protective clothing.
5.8.2 In case of any spillage on the body, it should be washed with plenty of water.
5.8.3 Avoid contact with skin.
5.8.4 Call a physician immediately if any symptom of poisoning appears in a person.
