1.0 OBJECTIVE :
1.1 To lay down a procedure for operation of nitrogen gas plant.
2.0. SCOPE :
2.1 This procedure is applicable to Nitrogen gas plant situated at pharma Dekho
3.0. RESPONSIBILITY :
3.1 Operator Engineering Department shall be responsible for operation of nitrogen gas plant and maintained the record.
3.2 Officer/Executive Engineering Department shall be responsible for to verify the operation of nitrogen gas plant.
4.0. ACCOUNTABILITY :
4.1 Head Engineering Department shall be accountable for compliance of SOP.
5.0. PROCEDURE :
5.1 OPERATION OF NITROGEN GAS PLANT START UP .
5.1.1 The area near the unit should be kept clean.
5.1.2 Check that the Control panel is getting power supply.
5.1.3 Ensure that drain valves of all equipments are closed.
5.1.4 Switch ‘ON’ the main switch & control supply switch and accept `hooter’, open water line valve and ensure that the water pressure is about 2.0 Kg/cm2.
5.1.5 Ensure that the PSA module is working and also check for the pressurize and depressurization of towers taking place as per the pressure and time curve.
5.1.6 Check that minimum pressure in the adsorbing towers of PSA goes to 6.2 Kg/cm2 and to maintain that , control the air flow by the globe valve V9 provided just at the air inlet into the PSA module.
5.1.7 Discharge the gas for 5-10 minutes, through the middle discharge valve. Adjust the Nitrogen Rota meter for the designed flow.
5.1.8 As soon as the Oxygen percentage at Surge Tank reaches within limits, close the Middle discharge Valve by the push button provided on the panel.
5.1.9 Copper Catalyst System will get automatically ‘ON’ through timer.
5.1.10 Before switching on Cracked Ammonia Supply, the whole unit should be purged with Nitrogen to ensure that no air is present in the unit.
5.1.11 Check that all pressure switches, and TIC’s are set as per the instructions given in the manual
5.1.12 Check the oxygen content in the product gas. If it is with in limits, press the push button to close the final vent valve and flow of gas to storage vessel starts.
5.2 NORMAL SHUT DOWN
5.2.1 Switch off control supply switch and main switch. Don’t disturb the setting of Needle Valves. Stop H2 supply.
5.3 PRECAUTION TAKEN WHILE RUNNING PANT:-
5.3.1 Check auto drain traps provided with, all Coolers and Air receivers are working and there is no water carry over. To ensure this manual drain valves should be opened to drain out the moisture, if any for after every 3-4 hours.
5.3.2 Check and ensure that all valves of PSA module are opening/ closing properly and min. pressure in both adsorbers goes to 6.0 kg/cm.2 and time sequence is O.K.
5.3.3 Check and ensure the changeover of towers and working of valves are according to the time cycle.
5.3.4 Back pressure controller function should be observed and checked periodically so that it always maintains 5.0-5.5 kg/cm2 in the Cu-Cat System.
5.3.5 Enter the operation details in the equipment log as per Annexure-I
5.3.6 Record the details in the monitoring record(Annexure II) in a frequency of every two hours
