1.0 Purpose
1.1 To lay down a procedure for Operation and Cleaning of De-duster Machine.
2.0 Scope
2.1 This SOP is applicable for Operation and Cleaning of De-duster Machine in ABC Pvt. Ltd.
3.0 Responsibility
3.1 Machine Operator To execute the procedure.
Production & QA officer Follow the procedure as per SOP
Head Production Training and Implementation of SOP
4.0 Accountability
4.1 Production Head is accountable for compliance of this SOP.
5.0 Procedure
5.1 Pre-Startup
5.1.1 Ensure that no remnants of previous product / batch are present.
5.1.2 Visually check the equipment and area for its cleanliness.
5.1.3 Ensure specified temperature, relative humidity and pressure differential of the area.
5.1.4 Check the material lying in the compression room is of the same batch to be proceeding.
5.1.5 Take the line clearance of the area from QA.
5.2 Operation
5.2.1 Align tablet feeding mouth of dedusting machine with tablet outlet chute of compression machine.
5.2.2 Switch “ON” the equipment along with the compression machine.
5.2.3 Collect dedusted tablets in a double poly bag lined container.
5.2.4 On completion of operation, switch “Off” the equipment and disconnect the main power supply.
5.2.5 Affix the “TO BE CLEANED” label on equipment.
5.3 Cleaning
5.3.1 Type A: for Product-to-Product change over
5.3.1.1 Switch ‘OFF’ the power supply to machine.
5.3.1.2 Remove loosely stuck powder from the machine by using vacuum cleaner and clean cloth.
5.3.1.3 Dismantle the de-duster machine in following sequence and keep the parts in virgin polybag:
• Feed hopper.
• Perforated sieve.
• Dust collecting plate.
5.3.1.4 Transfer the polybag containing dismantle parts of the machine to washing area.
5.3.1.5 Wash the dismantled parts with sufficient Raw water and then wash with purified water.
5.3.2 Type B: for batch to batch change over (same product)
5.3.2.1 Update the status board as ‘UNDER CLEANING’.
5.3.2.2 Switch ‘off’ the main supply of the machine.
5.3.2.3 Remove the tablet from the machine (if present).
5.3.2.4 First clean the machine with vacuum cleaner and then clean with dry cloth.
5.4 Training shall be provided to the concerned person.
