5.1 Description: Pour 50 ml finish sample in beaker and observed visually.
5.2 pH: Taken 50 ml sample in beaker rinse the pH electrode first with purified water followed by sample dip the electrode in sample and observed the pH.
5.3 Volume variation: Measured the volume by measuring cylinder and determine the volume variation.
5.4.1 In the assay, Identification by chemical method.

Disodium Hydrogen Citrate I.P. 1.25 gm
Estimation of Disodium Hydrogen Citrate:
About sample 2 g until carbonized (take 2g Disodium Hydrogen Citrate sample in crucible and burn it till it turn into ashes)
cool and boil the residue with 50 ml each of water and 0.5 M hydrochloric acid . Filter,
wash the filter with water and titrate the excess of acid in the filtrate and washings
with 0.5 M sodium hydroxide VS using methyl orange solution as indicator. Each mL of 0.5 M hydrochloric acid VS is equivalent to 65.78 mg of Disodium Hydrogen Citrate.
