Entry Exit and gowning Procedure in Microbiology Laboratory
1.0 Objective
To lay down a Procedure for Entry & Exit and Gowning Procedure in Microbiology laboratory.
2.0 Scope
This Standard Operating Procedure is applicable for Entry and Exit and Gowning procedure Microbiology Laboratory to be followed at formulation plants of abc Company.
3.0 Responsibility
3.1 Officer / Executive Microbiology shall be responsible for ensuring proper entry and exit procedure.
3.2 Head Quality Control shall be responsible for the implementation and compliance of SOP.

5.0 Procedure
5.1 Entry Procedure
5.1.1 Receive the keys of the Microbiology Laboratory from the Security Office.
5.1.2 Open the main entrance of the microbiology laboratory. Open the change room of the microbiology laboratory.
5.1.3 Remove personal shoes / footwear in shelf provided in the crossover bench in the change room.
5.1.4 Wear factory footwear from the crossover shelf.
5.1.5 Use a pair of shoe-covers if factory foot wear is not available.
5.1.6 Take out a clean apron and cap from the assigned shelf and wear it. Care shall be taken that the hair is completely covered by the cap.
5.1.7 Wash the hands with 70% IPA or other approved disinfectant.
5.1.8 Enter the areas of Microbiology Laboratory (Except Microbiology testing area and sterility test area).
5.2 Exit Procedure
5.2.1 Open the change room door of the Microbiology Laboratory.
5.2.2 Remove the Microbiology Laboratory foot wear and place them on the shelf assigned for the same/waste bin (For Visitor).
5.2.3 Wear personal shoes or footwear and exit from the Microbiology laboratory.
