1.1 To lay down the procedure for the sampling of Water for Microbiological Analysis.

5.1.1 Sampling bottles
5.1.2 70% IPA.
5.2.1 Before sampling ensure that the all sampling requirement available as mentioned..
5.2.2 Refer sampling points for a particular day.
5.2.3 Sample for microbiological analysis should be collected in pre-sterilized screw cap bottles.
5.2.4 Wear the sterilized hand gloves and remove the cap of bottle just prior collecting the sample.
5.2.5 The ‘sample contact area of the cap, should not come in contact with any surface, including the
fingers or hands of the individual collecting the sample.
5.2.6 Open the sampling/user point valve until there is steady stream of water.
5.2.7 Drain for approximately 1 minute, collect the water in sampling bottle.
5.2.8 Do not allow the bottle, or ‘water of bottle, come in contact with the valve.
5.2.9 Fill the bottle without overflowing the bottle.
5.2.10 Remove the bottle from the sample stream and place the cap on the bottle as quickly as possible.
5.2.11Tighten the cap securely.
5.2.12 Close the valve.
5.2.13 Fill the information on the face of the bottle such as location of sampling, Date of sampling.
5.2.14Collect all the sample and proceed for the analysis as per the SOP of water analysis (FPPL/MB/008-00).
If the sample are not taken immediately for analysis it store it at refrigerator 2-8 oC.
5.2.15Ensure that analysis is initiated in between within 2hrs after sampling.
