1.0 OBJECTIVE
1.1 To lay down a procedure of Cleaning, Sanitization and Disinfection in Microbiology Laboratory.

5.0 PRECAUTIONS
5.1 Take two SS buckets, In first SS bucket, Take disinfectant solution with freshly prepared in purified water, in second bucket should be empty to squeeze the dirty mops.
5.2 At least twice in a shift, mop all the Microbiology area floors using sterile mops soaked with freshly prepared disinfectant solutions (as per disinfectant schedule) prepared in purified water. Squeeze the mop in empty bucket.
5.3 Clean all glasses, doors of sterile area in microbiology lab with a sterile mop soaked in 70% IPA.
5.4 Wipe all the walls of sterile area in microbiology lab with duster followed with a disinfectant solution as per schedule given in Table-I
5.5 Wipe false ceiling with wet & then dry sterile mop and with disinfectant once in a week, when activities are stopped (In static condition).
5.6 Wipe U.V. Tube and light fixtures with a clean and sterile mop and then with another sterile non-fiber mop soaked in 70 % IPA solution, once in a week at non-working time (in static condition).
5.7 Clean return air filters with nylon brush and filtered IPA (70% solution) once in a week.
5.8 Wash containers, buckets with purified water followed by wiping with 70% IPA solution prior to use.

5.9 Instruments, lab equipment’s and glasses:
5.10 Before disinfection clean the lab instruments and equipment’s with dry non-fiber duster.
5.11 Afterwards clean the Area/Equipment/ Items by disinfectant as per schedule mentioned in Table – II.
