sop for Cleaning of soft water storage tank and RO feed tank
To lay down a procedure for the cleaning of soft water storage tank and RO feed tank.
This Standard Operating Procedure is applicable procedure involved in the cleaning of water tanks to be followed at formulation plants
3.1 Engineering Officer / Executive shall be responsible for the execution of this procedure.
3.2 Engineering Manager shall be responsible for the implementation of this SOP.
3.3 Head QA/designee shall be responsible for the compliance of this SOP.

5.1 Put the “UNDER CLEANING” board on the water tank and inform to all the Concerned.
5.2 Remove the cover from the man hole and drain the water tank from drain point.
5.3 Allow person to enter into the tank after they clean their hands and feet.
5.4 Keep the fresh water for cleaning purpose.
5.5 Clean the walls and floor with nylon brush and clean cloth.
5.6 Flush the tank with fresh water for 10 minute .drain out/pump out the weast water from
5.7 Apply 4% sodium hypochlorite solution (L R grade) on wall surface and floor of moping
5.8 Keep it half an hour and then flush with fresh water and drain out/pump out the weast
5.9 Continue the flushing test the water residual chorine and pH
5.10 If residual chlorine and pH sample is same as fresh water. Stop resining and close tank
5.11 After ensuring the quality collects the water in storage tank.
5.12 Remove the “UNDER CLEANING” board and cover the man hole.
5.13 Clean the water tank every 01 months.
