sop for Replacement of Tube lights
To lay down a procedure of replacement of Tube lights.
This Standard Operating Procedure is applicable for replacement of Tube lights to be followed at formulation plants
3.1 Engineering Officer / Executive shall be responsible for the execution of this procedure.
3.2 Engineering Manager shall be responsible for the implementation of this SOP.
3.3 Head QA/designee shall be responsible for the compliance of this SOP.

5.1 The Tube light shall be regularly monitored for its proper function on daily basis by the
5.2 Use ladder and safety shoes to examine a flickering or dead tube light.
5.3 Remove any diffuser or thin plastic cover used to hide tube lights from view.
5.4 Measure the bulb for length and select the right length/type replacement bulb.
5.5 Twist the bulb gently until the pins on the end of the bulb align with the slot and move
through the slot.
5.6 Pull down gently and remove the lamp.
5.7 Place the discarded lamp in a safe place.
5.8 Install the tube light in a way so that the bulb is even and level with the lamp housing.
5.9 Twist the bulb evenly,guiding the two pins into place in the round aperture.
5.10 Turn the light on.
5.11 Turn the light off once you are satisfied it is working and reinstall the plastic diffuser.
5.12 Replacement Frequency of Tube light(Indoor) should Half yearly.
5.13 Replacement Frequency of Tube light(Outdoor) should be Annually.
(NOTE : There should be no work going on in that area during the replacement of Tube lights.)
