To lay down a procedure Disposal of Engineering Waste.
This Standard Operating Procedure is applicable for Disposal of Engineering Waste to be followed at formulation plants
3.1 Officer / Executive Engineering shall be responsible for the execution of this procedure.
3.2 Engineering Manager shall be responsible for the implementation of this SOP.
3.3 Head QA/designee shall be responsible for the compliance of this SOP.

5.1 Ensure that there should be a separate area for engineering waste.
5.2 All the waste material is collected in the area labeled as “SCRAP YARD”.
5.3 All the material is sorted out category wise.
5.4 In presence of engineering staff the material is to be checked.
5.5 Sell out rejected/irreparable waste material to outside party.
5.6 Sell out scrap drums to outside party
5.7 Used oil of utility equipments (Air Compressor, compressor of chilling plant) is to be reused for lubrication of other machines.
5.8 Dispose off the waste HSD, Oil, Grease into a plastic drum, labeled as “WASTE LUBRICANT”.
5.9 Sell out waste oil to outside party collect the ETP Sludge in a sealed drum after completely drying.
5.10 If stored sludge stock reached up to approximately 2000 kg. Than Handed over the sludge to authorized vendor, those having incinerator facility to neutralize the sludge or having solid hazardous store authorization.
5.11 In case of Die and Punches, De-faced all the punched-dies and sieves in presence of production supervisor and than send it to scrap yard for disposal.
5.12 Record for waste disposal of die and punches shall be maintained separately by production department.
