To lay down a procedure for the operation of Multi Grade Filter.
This Standard Operating Procedure is applicable for Operation Multi Grade Filter (Make: Neela India Pvt. Ltd. Capacity 45 m3/Hr) to be followed
3.1 Engineering Officer / Executive shall be responsible for the execution of this
3.2 Engineering Manager shall be responsible for the compliance of this SOP.
3.3 Head QA/designee shall be responsible for the compliance of this SOP.

5.1.1 Start the MGF by pressing green button in starter and starter mounted main panel.
5.1.2 Open inlet valves AV-01 and outlet valves no AV-02 simultaneously of the MGF.
5.1.3 Start the Bore Well as per SOP No. ER/001-00 and Start the dosing pump.
5.1.4 Close back wash inlet valve number AV-03, close back wash outlet valve AV-04
5.1.5 Drain valve-AV-05 & Air vent valve- AV-06
5.1.6 Start inlet valve AV-01 and outlet valve AV-02. Collect the water in the RCC
Water storage tank.
6.1.1 Open inlet valve no AV-01 and outlet valve no-AV-02 of MGF.
6.1.2 Start the backwash operation by opening valve number AV-3, AV-4and AV-6.At the time
Of back wash valve no. AV-1, AV-2 and AV-5 should be closed.
6.1.3 Drain the water for about 10-15 minutes till the water becomes clear to eye.
6.1.4 Close valve number AV-1, AV-2 and AV-4.
6.1.5 Open valve AV-1, AV-5& AV-6 and slow rinse for 10 minutes. Check for the clarity
Of water at the outlet by naked eye.
6.1.6 If water is clear take the system inline as per SOP No. ER/003-00.
6.1.7 Maintain the record of Multi Grade Filter Operation & Back Wash in Annexure – 1.
