4.0 Abbreviations and Definitions
SOP : Standard Operating Procedure etc
No : Number
QA : Quality assurance
Qty : Quantity
UF : Ultra Filtration
EDI : Electronic Deionization Unit
RO : Reverse Osmosis
ER : Engineering
5.1 Ensure that the hydro-pneumatic system is switched on.
5.2 Check the level of 5 KL HDPE soft water tank, if level is less than 20%, start the soft
Water pump for the Soft water Plant as per SOP NO
5.3 Start the UF feed pump from SCADA Panel and collets the water in 2KL HDPE Tank. The
Product flow rate should be 8000-9000Liter/hr.
5.4 Open the valve AV-106 and Start the high pressure pump of RO by touch screen. Adjust
Flow of RO monitoring by Rota meters from the outlet valves. Product flow should be
8000-9000lit/hr. While the reject flow rate should be 2500-3000 ltr/hr. The pressure at the
Inlet of RO should be less than 12 kg/cm2.
5.5 Store the water in multi purpose jacketed storage tank by product line.
5.6 Check the conductivity at the outlet of RO from the sampling point; it should be less than
25 micro Siemens/cm displaying in SCADA Panel.
5.7 Open valve AVB-O6 & Close valve AVB-O4 and start the EDI by touch screen.
5.8 Regulate the EDI feed water by adjusting the Rota meter inlet/outlet valves. The flow at the
Out let for the product should be 5000 lit/hr and reject flow should be 500 lit/hr.
5.9 Monitor the conductivity at the outlet of EDI on SCADA , it should be less than 1.25 micro
Siemens/cm. If the Conductivity is more than 1.25, ADV will remain open and water will be
Under recirculation automatically.
5.10 Collect this water in the purified water tank for its distribution to various user points. Fill in
The details as per Annexure – 1.
